General Rules
Game Version: All matches will be played on the latest version of Tekken 8.

Match Structure
Tournament Format: 1 vs 1, Double Elimination Bracket
Match Format: Best of 3 Matches (Finals Best of 5)
Rounds: Each match consists of a Best of 5 Rounds
Round Time: 60 Seconds per round

Variations: Only Tournament Mode Variations are allowed
Character Customizations: Off
Live Component Requirement
Location: All players must be physically present at their respective schools or designated tournament locations.
Live Interaction: Matches must be supervised via a live video link using platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet.
Webcam Setup: A wired webcam setup is required to show both the player and their gameplay screen clearly, ensuring interaction is as close to face-to-face as possible.
Verification: Continuous live feed is required during competition to verify fairness and rule compliance.
Opponent Selection Rules
Initial Opponent Selection:
Blind Pick: For the first match in each set, both players choose their characters independently without revealing their choices to each other. Character selections are simultaneously confirmed to the game organizer or through the system, ensuring that neither player knows the other's choice until both are locked in.
Counterpick Character Selection:
Winner's Lock: After each game within a match, the winning player must first declare their character choice for the next game. This selection is made openly and cannot be changed once declared.
Loser's Advantage: The losing player then has the opportunity to select their character in response, allowing them to choose strategically based on the winner's selection.
Conduct Rules
Coaching: Permitted only between matches.
Pausing: Any pausing, accidental or purposeful, will result in the forfeiture of the round by the player who paused.
Disruptions: Any unidentifiable disruptions will lead to a replay of the round.
Stalling: Not allowed under any circumstances.
Controllers: Standard controllers and fight sticks only. No turbo, macro, or programmable controllers are allowed.
Button Configuration: Players are allowed one button check per match before the match begins.
Fair Play: No use of cheats or exploiting known glitches.
